Featuring coordinators from Inferno, Bootcamp, Delta, and Gearup
If a local play party is like a day at Disneyland, then a Leathermen’s summer camp is more like full immersion in a genuine Magic kingdom. Attracting men from far off, offering multiple dungeons and play spaces, sometimes across multiple buildings, in tents—or just hot public fucking in the glory of nature.
Seamless and all encompassing, you can relax into the magic. You have full days and nights to spin your webs. Leave the grey world in its dust, and spend small eternities communally feeding your souls with That Thing That We Do.
Creating this special kind of magic takes a lot of volunteers, money, and coordination. LDG is honored to host coordinators from four major Kinky Summer Camp events across the United States to give us a glimpse, and break it all down.
Want to go, but aren’t sure if they’re right for you, or what to expect, aren’t sure what to ask, or who? Do you want to know how they work, who they‘re for, what’s unique, and special about each one?
This panel discussion reveals all.
David Katzenberg has been in the BDSM community for 30+ years, and a member of the Chicago Hellfire club for 24 years. His first event was Inferno 25 (2021 was Inferno 50). Kinks include play piercing, hooks suspension bondage and fisting. Inferno is very special to him because of the brotherhood at the run and in the club. He would wait all year to pierce because piercing was taboo or extreme. As a seven-time Inferno coordinator he follows two rules: first, make sure no one sees the drama, and second for all attendees have a good time. He believes those have been accomplished.
Stephen Charles has been involved in the Bay Area Leather/BDSM community for over 17 years. He has volunteered for multiple organizations including the Bay Area Leather Alliance and Folsom Street Events, and has been an LDG Mentor for multiple cycles. In 2011 he co-created GearUp Weekend, a Leather/BDSM/fetish event that provides safe spaces for men and transmen to explore their kink sexuality. He’s a professional barber and leathercrafter.
Al Parso-York has been involved in the Leather Community since the late 1970s. He is a Fraternal Emeritus of The 15 Association, Chairman of the Delta Brotherhood, and involved in other Leather related organizations. Al lived in San Francisco from 1983 to 2017 and has since retired to Palm Springs, where he lives with his partner of 36 years. Al enjoys various forms of BDSM but is best known as an impact player bottom.
Master Jeffrey Garner has been an active part of the Scene for more than 20 years now. Jeff trained as a slave under Master/Daddy Timothy Manni, who acknowledged Jeff as a Master more than 15 years ago. Jeff is a member of the 15 Association, having served 5 years as Chairman, 3 years as Vice Chairman, 8 years as Secretary, 2 years as Party Committee Chairman, 1 year as Special Events Committee Chairman, and 16 plus years as Boot Camp Committee Chairman.
